GPTZero

Overview of GPTZero
Developed by Princeton student Edward Tian, GPTZero uses linguistic markers such as perplexity (how predictable text is) and burstiness (variation in sentence length) to differentiate human and AI writing. It’s trained on diverse datasets, allowing it to recognize subtle patterns unique to AI-generated text. The platform provides detailed confidence scores, highlighting which sentences are likely AI-written. GPTZero integrates with educational systems and offers a Chrome extension for quick scanning. It’s trusted by universities, journalists, and editors to validate originality and authorship.

We use it as a second opinion. Flags are specific, not hand‑wavy.
Batch uploads work
CSV bulk ran fine for a big assignment. Saved hours.
Per‑sentence view helps
Students see exactly what to rewrite. Good teaching moment.
Short texts are noisy
Under a page you can get swings. I combine sections.
